ISO14001 Environment and Health & Safety Accreditation
We are delighted to announce that we have
been awarded accreditation in both the ISO 14001
Environmental Management and ISO 18001 Health &
Safety Management standards to join the FSC
accreditation that we gained over a year
earlier.
The Environmental Management standard was gained prior to
the installation of the new alcohol free Komori
press. The assessment mentioned the fact that
the commitment to the environment was endemic
throughout the company.
In each case the commitment to a planned process
of improvement and specific performance targets
are the basis for the accreditation. This
recognises that working with Hobbs means working
with an organisation with a proven commitment to
reducing its environmental impact in a safe and
predictable process.

FSC CertifiedIn 7 April 2006, Hobbs the Printers became one of the first printers to be awarded the Forest Stewardship Council's Chain of Custody Standard.
The FSC is an international network set up with a view of certifying wood products as coming from woodlands managed in a responsible way. The FSC sets international standards and accredits third party organisations, who in turn certify forest managers and forest product producers.
As well as being able to advise clients on available
certified FSC paper, Hobbs also has the certified procedures in place to ensure that FSC paper is stored and controlled throughout the print manufacturing process in an appropriate manner.

ISO9001 Quality
StandardWe retain our ISO9001 quality standard,
which we have held as BS5750/ISO9001 since 1992. This
internationally recognised accreditation demonstrates to our valued customers the competence, performance and capabilities in all areas of production at Hobbs the Printers. We pride ourselves on providing a professional quality service throughout the business meeting the most demanding of standards in
todays printing industry.
Regular Quality Audits help us to focus on how we can continue to improve and add value to our service. Electronic scheduling on-line to our shop floor data collection system, for example, helps us to keep within tight time frames. For many customers this is essential, as we provide them with a 'just in time' total fulfilment solution of direct shipment/mailing to their end users.
